Speaker Bio: Denny is the co-founder of OceanMedix.com LLC and a licensed yacht captain, holding a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Master's License. In 1993, after twenty years as a practicing architect, he turned to his lifetime love of the sea. Following a three year circumnavigation on a Hinckley SW 42 in 1996 he formed Emory / Yachting Services. Denny continues to free-lance on a project by project basis doing yacht deliveries, commissioning and new boat shake-downs, owner orientations and training, and participates in ocean yachting adventures with owners. In 1998 he developed and produced the Owner's Manuals for Morris Yachts in Southwest Harbor, Maine. A former certified Wilderness-EMT, he has voyaged more that 100,000 nautical miles on both sail and power vessels, visiting 42 countries on five continents. Denny is a member of the Ocean Cruising Club, Cruising Club of America, U.S. Sailing and the U.S. Power Squadrons.

Even in home waters, getting outside professional medical assistance or direct intervention on a timely basis may not be ..... yacht deliveries, commissioning, consulting, instruction and adventures worldwide.....possible. This seminar addresses an overview of the sources of medical information, equipment, and resources available to the cruiser and ocean voyager. Denny Emory is co-founder of OceanMedix.com, a licensed yacht captain, and formerly certified Wilderness-EMT. He has voyaged more that 100,000 nautical miles on both sail and power vessels, visiting 42 countries on five continents. Denny's experience as a cruiser and provider of medical equipment for cruisers allows him to share with you a variety of topics that will contribute to making one a confident and self-sufficient cruiser better prepared for almost any medical emergency. He will cover: information resources, first aid kits; medical manuals; medical equipment and supplies; AEDs, prescription medications; over-the-counter medical supplies; first aid and medical training; communication; 24/7 tele-med support; and, personal crewmember responsibilities.
