Ken is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and a Federally licensed navigator. He is the founder of Celestaire, Inc., the largest sextant seller in the world. Ken has been presenting basic and advanced celestial navigation seminars at most major sailboat shows since the first Sail Expo in 1993. His seminars are not only effective, but entertaining as well. Each attendee will be given a set of notes from the seminar which will be very useful for review. |

This seminar explores answers to the question "how should we think about celestial navigation in this GPS age"? Simple examples and theory, along with an overview of formal theory are presented in order to show how easy celestial Navigation can be. The attendees will be able to go home and plot his position celestially without buying tools or instruments. Modern developments in equipment and resources for learning and practicing celestial navigation are presented. |
