Kame Richards is a sailmaker and sail designer at Pineapple Sails which he co-founded in 1973. Pineapple Sails makes both racing and cruising sails, building them from start to finish at its facility in Alameda, CA. Kame's racing experience covers San Francisco Bay, the California Coast, 9 Hawaii races, 8 Mexico races, as well as races in the Great Lakes, Florida, Texas and Europe. He has cruised in Mexico, New Zealand and Australia. He has a well established reputation as a lecturer on all aspects of sailing. Kame attended the University of California at Berkeley, majoring in Geophysics. |

Enjoy a non-technical discussion of sails and how to trim them, and how they affect your boat, from angle of heel to weather helm. Subjects include trim of mainsails, headsails, spinnakers and cruising spinnakers, and the interaction of sails with each other. Controlling your boat in adverse conditions such as choppy seas and gusty winds will be covered. |
